A customer of mine sent me a photograph of an open bangle. She asked if I could make a similar one for her. As the bangle was made in the reticulation technique, and I haven"t used it for about 20 years, I looked it up in u-tube and found many reticulated jewelry results there. One of them was to melt various pieces of silver on top of a strip of Sterling silver, without having to solder them. I became enthusiastic and tried it out. I melted various remains from my Sterling silver stash. This is the result. (not the one I am planning for my customer though). I hope you will like it.

It's new, but still totally your style, Irith, great job! I love the contrast between the blackened and the light silver because it brings out the pattern so well. What are you planning that is different for your customer's bracelet?

What are you planning that is different for your customer's bracelet? Thank you Cat! The customer wants a clearer version of reticulation, which is usually done by heating a thin layer of Sterling over a thicker layer of Copper. It should be 80% copper and 20% sterling silver which creates a "wrinkled" texture. I am in the stage of learning and experimenting now. Keeps me enthusiastically busy these troubling days Still haven't shown her the one I posted here. If my experiment succeeds, I will show her both for her to choose one of them, if at all .
