Hi Everyone, I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself, though I do see a few familiar faces *waves to Cat and Gayle. I have been creating jewelry now for I guess around 6 years. I am first and foremost a pencil artist morphed into a fiber artist. I was diagnosed with bubbles in my retinas about 7 years ago and told to stop my intricate stitching. Shortly after that i decided to learn wire wrapping. I quickly fell in love with it and since then I have been slowly learning new techniques to enhance my jewelry work. I seriously love making all the bits and bobs to make into jewelry. I look forward to getting to know you all and enjoy your creations p.s. my eyes have healed but I am hooked now on the jewelry!

Welcome to the forum Diane. I look forward to seeing some of your work. I have always admired wire wrapping but never mastered it myself.

Hi, Diane! **waves madly** Glad to see you here and welcome!
Yes, do show off your fabulous art. I have a shirt I bought from Diane that has her beautiful feather on it and a stunning fish print which I also purchased.
I'm a fan!

Bubbles in your retinas? Sounds really scary!!! Very! Especially when they told me the only treatment they have is reserved for last hopes. They told me to rest. That is was probably caused by a cortisone shot I had a few months before. I can never have cortisone again. I can also never have anti-inflammatories for another reason so, fun stuff! But the bubbles are gone now and I hope they never return!

Hi Diane, very glad to have you join us and I look forward to seeing your work! Happy to read that your eyes have healed. Artists are such visual creatures that I can't imagine how scary having serious vision problems would be. Dawn

Thanks Togan and Dawn. Yes, Dawn, it was a terrifying experience. One I hope to never go through again. I would be lost without my eyes!

Yikes!!! I'm glad your vision is good! What a drag about the anti-inflammatories. What do you do for pain?

Yikes!!! I'm glad your vision is good! What a drag about the anti-inflammatories. What do you do for pain? I am allowed painkillers though I don't like taking them. I also can't have turmeric though it DOES work. CBD works for me to a point. It helps with my arthritis. Docs say if I ever get in a life threatening situation where I have to take cortisone I will have to make a decision on whether my life or my vision is more important. Pretty scary stuff ;(

Wow! Very scary, Diane! Let's hope you don't ever have to deal with cortisone again.
I use CBD salve on my very arthritic thumb joints. I'm happy to say I am virtually pain-free! I get a little tender towards the end of the day but I rub the salve in before I go to bed and I'm in good shape until the next evening. I'm a believer!
