Mr Sidney Poitier "Lilies of the Field" was - according to my mother - the first movie I ever watched as a kid, from beginning to ending without walking out. I love this movie so much.

Simply stunning portrait again. I think this probably rates as one of my favourites.

Thank you all so much! The next pattern is on the table, but I'll have to make another one for my Mom's family wall first

That's incredible, Cat. Your portraits just get better and better! I liked him too. I best remember him in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." Your post had me wondering if he is still alive, so I looked him up. He has led an amazing life including serving as the Bahamian ambassador to Japan from 1997 to 2007. Some people are just destined for greatness and he has been one of them. Dawn

Thank you for your kind comment, Dawn!
Of course I thought of him when "In the Heat of the Night" was on TV the other night (you may remember I mentioned in a daily thread). The next day I sat down to make the pattern, but it then took a while to actually start looming.

Thank you, Michelle! I admit he's one of those who makes me smile when I look at him on my wall.
