Interesting article, Carole. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. I knew jewelry was a saturated market, but didn't realize that only 10% of all jewelry purchases are made online. No wonder it's such a struggle to make sales - there's a double whammy to overcome. Personally, I feel that the more informed we are going into this, the better prepared we will be for taking this step. Articles such as this can only help us go into this new venture with eyes wide open which is a good thing! In my case, I've had little success selling online; since the shops are free for a year, I figure it's worth a shot and will re-evaluate a year from now. Dawn

I've had a fair amount of success selling on Facebook. Etsy is okay, but not fabulous.
I think the handmade market may (hopefully) be different than Amazon's foray into selling baubles. Sounds like they didn't really know their market, as far as jewelry sales are concerned.
Time will tell.
