Facebook is advertising its sales through Shopify. It sounds intriguing. I just can't seem to find any relevant information on how to ship. I guess I am spoiled with Etsy on that. Whenever I inquire about shipping through Shopify I get what seems to be rather generic answers. Shipping has always been a bit of a nerve wracking element. Is anyone here selling through Shopify and what can you tell me about it? Karin

I don't know anything about Shopify, but if you have a paypal account, you can ship using them. Payment doesn't have to be through paypal to use their shipping. I send stuff to my mother all the time using paypal shipping. This is the link I use: paypal shipping

I don't know anything about Shopify either, but that's a great tip about Paypal. Thanks, Michele! Karin, if you end up using Shopify, let us know how it goes for you. Dawn

I just found out that you have to be very careful about the shipping options on PayPal! The rates are the same as Etsy shipping rates, so if you get a price that is much higher, change things (like priority vs standard etc) around until you get the same as the Etsy price. The difference can be something like Etsy = $ 1.93 PayPal(with wrong option) = $ 6.91. Quite the difference! I had to use the PayPal shipping for a repair. My niece who had visited us in November here in Ohio bought a bracelet and a wire on it broke. She sent it to me from San Diego, I fixed it and had t ship it back. I wish I could say I chose the cheaper option:( Lesson learned - the hard way.

Karin, I've used paypal shipping for years. They don't have first class as the default setting like etsy. You have to choose which option you want to use. I think priority mail is the first option on paypal. That's probably what you chose.
Although I've recently started using etsy shipping, I actually prefer paypal. The main reason I changed, is so the tracking number appears with the order on etsy and are automatically marked as shipped. I used to have to copy and paste the tracking number from paypal and mark etsy orders shipped.

With the few orders I get it's not hard to do the shipping. Actually I am so happy to have an order trough Etsy, I would probably jump through a fiery hoop if that's what they wanted me to do!

You made me laugh, Karin! I'm not on Etsy myself, but I only have few orders, too. I imagined having to jump through a fiery hoop and the image was not a nice one

Thanks Cat! Glad I could make you laugh! Selling my pieces has been a bit of a struggle! But I think the universe is trying to tell me to get my business stuff together...

I looked into shopify before, the fact that you have to pay a monthly fee after 2 weeks stopped me. I used something similar before and they allowed only 50 products or else you had to pay. You could, if you have a website or sell through Etsy, use a "call to action" button that links to your store. You need a Facebook page for it though. You can see the "call to action" button on my page in the link below, on my pagecover image My Facebook Page

Carina, do you mean Storeya with the 50 products? I have it on my page, sadly neglected and not updated. I do have the call to action button, too.

I have a FaceBook page, instagram, twitter, pinterest, you name it. I could do that stuff all day, but then I wouldn't be able to make any jewelry. It's just that I really need to sell it and I feel incredibly stuck on that end right now.
