I seem to remember something about needing something special to cut Fireline because it was not easy to cut and would dull scissors. Suggestions? I'm not a beader but now that I've ended my little business I realized I rarely made anything for myself other than the leather bracelets.

You don't need anything special, ordinary scissors will do if they are sharp enough. It's what I use. Just don't use your good scissors that you don't want to give up anytime soon. I've heard for many people simple children's scissors work very well, they are not expensive and you can replace them easily if you need to.
I have used my scissors for a while and they are still doing fine.

I've also heard that you can use fingernail clippers.

You can use ordinary scissors on fireline. It is true though that they will dull the edge after a while so a cheap pair that can be easily replaced would be my recommendation.
