Found this cool filter device on Light Stalking: www.lightstalking.com/10-cool-holiday-gifts-photographerScroll down to the little hand held JJC white balance filter. High tech stuff: you hold it in front of your camera's lens to set a custom white balance. (So you might have to check your manuals to set the white balance on your camera. We all read the manuals, don't we??? )

Manual? what is this manual you speak of? I think it's packing material in the box the camera comes in. Who knew you were supposed to actually read it. ;D

White balance is one of those tricky things at the beginning, but once you got it, it's great. I just read this blog the other day and I thought it was one of the best I found to explain how to do custom white balancing. Great for the layperson to understand. Of course read your manual, but sometimes that reads a little "Greek-y" ifyaknowwhatImeanVern. thebearfootbaker.com/2012/09/custom-white-balance/(You can find another white balance post she wrote, under her Tips menu.) Oh and feel free to peruse her site, she makes the best cookies! (modified to add the p.s.) p.s. On that link, I also love the Hoodloupe, the Protective Wrap, and the green screen kit.

How much better can things get??? Cameras and cookies; oh, my increasing waistline. (And my list of bookmarks has now grown longer.) I particularly liked her including a view of the inside of the lens cap just in case it happens to us. Nah, never.....

Cat, Fawlty Towers, or any combination of the letters, was probably one of the best comedy series evah! I think my favorite is "The Germans are Coming!". Have the series on dvd and laugh every time. Looked at the special feature section on one disk and it said that the actor who plays Manuel isn't actually Spanish, would you believe that? Saw an outtake and he definitely is English and has done several audio books! He speaks the "Eenglish" very well (just like that moose in "The Germans are Coming", "just don't mention the war")
Thanks for a great big laugh today!

I know! He was born in Germany and escaped the Nazis with his parents when he was still a child!!
I think this is one of my favorite scenes ever in Fawlty Towers! This and the one in which Basil is going after the false Lord!
