Erin's Kumi warps made me wonder what else people have used with seed beads, and how.
I've used a lot of gemstones, cabs, chain, lampwork (duh!), metal filliigree, and wire in my "seed bead" creations. I'd like to incorporate fibers, but I haven't really gotten that figured out yet.
What materials have you added to seed beads?

Cindy, seriously? You used lampwork?? I would never have known! Since I only used seed beads in my crochet pieces before starting with the loom, I combined them with wire and cabs mostly. It would be interesting to see how you add fibers.

I have added seedies as embellishment to my new felted cuffs, so that counts as fibres I think

The only seed beading I have done was adding a design to the felted cuffs I bought from Gwen last year.

Okay, so I added seed beads to my Gwencuffs, too. But I put that under the category of embroidery, lol! ;D

Okay, so now I can add "chicken foot leather" to my list of things I've used with seed beads. Do I win for the weirdest? Erin - I bet you can top that . . . !

Cindy wins for weird.
I use the Miyuki rocailles on my knotted silk necklaces between the bead and the knot to keep the knots from pulling through.
I use them for embroidering the collars and cuffs of simple tunics. They work fabulously with a feather stitch when I'm going for a simple berried or dewy branch look.
When I was 8 I did a lot of stringing. Mom gave me her old loom with a ton of beads that I played with a good bit. Somewhere I have an old envelope full of beautiful dark blue faceted luster seed beads that was included in that stash. They were already old when she got them as a kid.

Oooh, I'd love to see a photo of those, Andrea. If you come across them, please show them, okay?
