I have a question and would like to see what y'all think.
I have taken a new interest in Pinterest and the JAC board and decided to pin the entries to our monthly challenges. So far, I have Michele's and Cat's entries up there and I'll continue to pin as new entries are posted.
My question is (and it's not just for the challenge, but for the JAC board in general), when pinning should we pin the file photo submitted to JAC? Or, should we pin the item from the JAC member's shop if they have one? My thinking was that if we pin from their shops, people looking at our JAC board might click on the item which would take them to the shop and could result in sales for members. Or, do we want to keep the board's sole purpose as being to promote JAC?
There. Something for you guys to chew on. If we've already discussed this, I've forgotten and don't feel like trying to find the conversation.

Dawn, I just saw your post. Although I'd love to have the item go to the shop listing, I think the purpose of the pinterest JAC board should be to promote JAC. That's my two cents but I'm open to discussion.
We definitely need more traffic/activity here at JAC. But, perhaps one of the goals of JAC should be to help promote our members which could be an added benefit of belonging to and participating in our website.
We already are pretty vigilant about not allowing people to spam JAC by trying to sell things via links in their posts especially those drive-by members who join for the sole purpose of doing just that.
Not so sure that using the Pinterest board to promote both JAC and the work of our members is a bad thing.
If nothing else, it's an interesting topic to discuss!
Just saw the above discussion. Personally, I think the pin that links back to the person's shop would be nice. I think that exposure for JAC really wouldn't be compromised if you were also able to find and purchase a piece that was pinned. Just my two cents worth... Karin
