I've tried to start an inverted round maille project three times with no success. When I start the weave, I can't tell which rings to go through next! The whole piece sort of collapses so I can't tell what's what! Do any of you have a tip or two on getting it started? I understand it is fairly easy once you get going.
I get a bit confused on a number of weaves, but when I try a new one, I keep short pieces of thin (24/26/28 gauge) copper wire around and stabilize the first few rows as I do them. Once I have enough length to hold onto, I just unwrap or cut them off. By the time the end is long enough, I usually have a pretty good idea of the pattern.
