Hi everyone, I had signed up at Craftsy a while back, but haven't utilized it yet. The other day or last week or so, I received an email notification from them about a free tutorial from Kate Richbourg about the micro torch. In recent months, I finally have delved into using micro torches and have been reading up about it. I even took a class or two. So, I marked it to watch later and just got around to it. Wow, it's pretty good for a beginner freebie. There are even 2 projects included - stacked rings, and metal band using half round wire. Makes me want to start making stacked rings post haste! Anyway, I highly recommend it for the beginner looking to start up. I took a class like this in person at a local community center, where I learned to make those "Spiculum Earrings" I posted to Show and Tell a while back but did not receive the same amount of instruction as from this video. Eventually I learned most everything that is in this video from many different sources and how-tos on youtube, but this is in just one video. I know it's basically a teaser to get more business but I thought it was informative and good quality. Anywhooo...here's the link to the the free video at Craftsy: www.craftsy.com/class/micro-torch-basics/130.

Thanks, Jeanne. I have a butane torch, but tips are always welcome.

I've used Craftsy a bit and I really like it. I've paid for only one class (Torch-Fired Silver Metal Clay), and so far it's pretty good. They also have a lot of patterns, both free and paid. Their website is very easy to navigate, too.
