I must have had a second toddy before ordering beads. They just keep coming! Some in little plastic bags, some on fishing line, etc. so far, I have just stuffed them into plastic pill bottles. How do you pros organize and label your beads? Brad

Brad, I'm sorry, but this made me laugh out loud. Welcome again! You have entered the realms of craziness.
I have different ways of organizing my beads, but compared to many others my bead stash is really small. I keep my Delicas and seed beads in plastic/wooden storage boxes. The Delicas are not organized except that I have the color numbers 1 to 300 in one little drawer, 400 to 600 and so on. That's because I usually use the bead program for Delicas and therefore pick them by numbers. The seed beads are organized by colors and sizes because I never use them with the program. Starting with wire crochet back when, I have hardly any big beads because I don't use them often. For the crochet, I used quite tiny beads. For all of those, I got several of those portable storage cases used by nail artist to keep all their stickers and stuff in them. I have four or five of those cases, they are see through as are the little containers (for some things I need more than one container), so I just have to look at the back and see what I want, but the containers also have little labels. Again, I know where most of my stuff is because I don't have THAT much, but I can still surprise myself, mostly because I suck at putting stuff away and then stumble over "project boxes" with beads in them or cabs or crystals ... I could keep going.
I'm definitely not a pro pro.

When I started out, I used a fishing tackle box to keep my beads and beading supplies organized. However, it didn't take long for me to outgrow it and I had to find another method. These days, I use those storage containers with tiny compartments that are meant to store things like nuts and bolts. This is where I keep small beads and metal beads. I usually get them from Home Depot. For my larger strands of beads, I use stacked storage containers with lids. The beads are in zip lock bags, and if I'm feeling ambitious the zip locks are labeled. These containers don't have compartments and the bags are inside loose. I just rummage through them when looking for whatever I'm looking for. For my components, such as clasps, jump rings, head pins, ear wires, etc., I have two of those spinning spice racks that hold small clear glass containers. Those stay on my work bench and when I am working, I can spin the racks and see at a glace what it is I'm looking for. I just love them. One contains all of my copper components and the other contains the silver, gold and misc. stuff. I don't label the tops of the containers as the contents can change and also because I can see what's inside. They can often be found new or nearly new at the thrift stores for $5. One of the nice things about seed beads is that they usually come in their own containers which is a nice way to keep them organized. All you have to do is put the containers in a container. I also had to laugh at your first paragraph. Entering the world of beads is like falling down a rabbit hole - tipsy or not! Dawn

I collect large beads. I need a special cupboard for them now. Really much too many. Especially due to the fact that I mostly make earrings with bezel set cabs in them. Must begin to make necklaces with them now.

Must begin to make necklaces with them now. That would be fun and interesting, me thinks. Going through a huge stash of beads and discovering a group that would make a nice necklace. Or many necklaces, eh. Brad

All my stuff is in for finally making my dangles. I have watched a number of videos. I am trying to visualize making the loop-with a wrap, after I have threaded the wire through wire stitching on my pendent edge? All the videos I have watched (as I recall) only show making up your bead string and loop before mounting it on something else. As I see it: make my tail on the pin (melt to form a bead or make an end pin knot. string on my beads. The thread the remaining exposed wire through a gap on my wire stitches (or its hole) and create the loop-with a few wraps to secure loop. So, I am confused on how I can make a pretty and secure loop in this process? This is based on I dispose of the jump rings I attached to me pendent. Thank you, Brad
