There have been several discussions at the Etsy forms today about the news that Chad Dickerson will be leaving Etsy. He will be stepping down as CEO effective tomorrow and will remain in an advisory role until May 31. He is being replaced by board member Josh Silverman. Etsy will also be laying off 80 employees or about 8% of their work force. Here is a link to one article I found about this: New Etsy CEO AnnouncedIs this a good move for Etsy? I feel like I haven't had a shop there long enough to have an informed opinion, but some of you have been at Etsy since the very beginning.

Chad's tenure brought a lot of the resellers that Etsy used to not allow.
The new guy does seem to be starting on the right foot by having a Q&A with sellers on the forum. I guess time will tell if he listens and implements any of the suggestions.

I hope the new guy straightens things out and returns Etsy to its glory days...or at least removes the mass marketers and resellers.

And, the intellectual property infringers. Although, I do understand that they would lose safe harbor status if they did that, so it may not be practical. But, a gal can wish! Dawn

It's all about the bottom line. Money talks.
