Yea, I know about using a drill to twist wire. Thing is, I don't really know how to use a drill and learning how to use one means an impatient lecture from hubby. Plus, there's that trip down to the garage to find the drill and changing chucks or whatever they're called. What I do know is how to use kitchen tools. The electric mixer came to mind. It spins and I figured why not give it a try. So, I inserted one of the beater thingies into the mixer, wrapped two pieces of wire to it and wrapped the other ends to the pop-up rack on my toaster. Just to be safe, I unplugged the toaster, thinking that wire in a toaster might be a really bad idea. Armed with safety goggles and keeping a slight tension on the wire, I turned the mixer on at the lowest speed and ended up with the most beautiful length of uniformly twisted wire ever! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the twisted wire. Dawn

That's a good use for a mixer. You sound a little like MacGyver.

Just call me Dawnie MacGyver! Hey, I figure using the mixer to twist wire is way more fun than using it to mash potatoes. Dawn

How cool is that ??!! Talk about re-purposing kitchen tools ... brilliant. Glad you unplugged it ... might have been interesting though. Philip.

Well, I never would have thought to anchor the other end to the ...toaster.

Not only famous, but also smart. Are the deals for your TV show on yet?? Can I get cards? Can I get an autograph? Will you still remember me when you live in the Hollywood Hills??

Well, let's see here. I'll try to answer in order, but keep in mind that I am a very busy and very important, not to mention smart and famous person. Thank you, Philip. Yea, going up in sparks isn't my idea of fun, but it definitely would have been exciting. Glad to oblige with the mental image, Nessie! MacGyver in Cal it is, Gaby! Am I going to look not so smart to admit that I'm not really getting the MacGyver references? Sure, Andrea. If the toaster has one of those cool toasting racks it's perfect for anchoring the wire...just be sure to unplug the toaster. See response to Philip above. Cat, no deals yet, but I'm expecting the phone to start ringing any day now. Yes you can have cards and an autograph. Would you like autographs for your friends too? No plans to move, but I'm pretty sure I'll remember you if you remind me who you are. Dawn
