This week's Oldies but Goodies Theme Challenge is a little different. It is LOOKING BACK at some of the first jewelry we made. I thought it might be fun to see where we all started, most likely stringing. Post some of your earliest work.
Go through your stash and post a picture in this thread, that pertains to the theme. It can be something you made yesterday or something you made 5 years ago. We encourage you to post as many items as you want. Can't make it much simpler.
We hope to see lots of creative pics of your work that depicts your earlier work.
At the end of the challenge Cat will make a collage from the entries (at least one picture from each member) and post it on her blog to share what a talented crowd this is! She will link back to your shop, blog or other pages from your signature. If you don't want your piece/s to be included, please note that in your post.
We'd love to have more members participate in this easy, fun challenge. Won't you join us?
I didn't take pictures of all my early pieces and didn't keep pictures of all of my early sold items (which is for the better), but here are some I found that are from early 2009 (I started playing with wire in winter 2008).
One of several sterling silver rings with beads.
One of my first bangles with semi precious stones. A set of pink of green with rose quartz and aventurine were the first things I sold after opening my Etsy shop.
Some of my first earrings.
These were the first earrings I ever shared at old SJA and the second pair I ever sold if I remember right. The second picture was the first pair. You can also tell from the terrible pictures. It's funny that the shop which only keeps a selection of sold items with pictures kept the most terrible.
One of my very first bracelets. I made the same one with a red seed bead mix.
