So now we're waiting for someone she knows to contact us. She thinks he'll be perfect. Thia is becoming a headache in progress!
I have taken "okay" pics before with my camera. I need someone who will take terrific pics.
I haven't filled out the registration yet, Michele. I'm waiting to find out about the photos. I have all of my Amazon Handmade emails in a folder for safekeeping. I'll do all that stuff when I have something to work with.

I hate when something that should be easy turns out to be more complicated than expected. When I checked my email this morning, the registration was there. We're out of town for a couple of days so I don't think I'm going to deal with it until next week when I can give it my full attention. Michele, glad you mentioned the one time use; I didn't see that when I skimmed the email. Dawn

Has anyone started working on their Amazon shop yet? I haven't - feeling kind of intimidated/overwhelmed at the thought of the learning curve involved in setting up a new shop. Dawn

Not me. I've got too much going on right now.
I've saved all of the emails from Amazon to read when I get ready.
Just the thought of having to retake all of the photos, is overwhelming.

I'm holding off, too. I have been saving the emails, like Michele, and waiting to wade through them.
Reading the TOU, Claudia, it seems Etsy's is pretty much the same.
I am having some luck selling in a Facebook group I belong to. I want to pay a little more attention to listing there, before I get all crazy and wrapped up in Amazon. Let's just say I'm a little nervous-like everybody. It seems like such a huge venture. Who knows?

I've seen that, Claudia. Like, Gayle, I think it's pretty standard wording. The same kind of conversation was happening when Pinterest first came on the scene. The way I look at it is that Amazon wouldn't be such a popular selling site if they were ripping off their sellers. I did see in one of the posts where someone stated that Amazon admin had addressed the issue in the Amazon forums. They said that the part of the TOS in question refers to using sellers photos for advertising purposes. My concern about holding off too long setting up shop is missing the Christmas shopping season and not getting full benefit of the monthly fee that's being waived until next August. I think I just need to sit down and make myself get to work. Dawn

I have gotten all registered and I think my shop is active, my only problem is I can do much, it doesn't have mobile support. I have been operating almost exclusively off my tablet, which proved so successful replaced my pc, which I elected no to replace after hurricane sandy. I picked up a 2014 galaxy 10.1 tablet which is superior to almost any pc I've ever used. it seems I've run into a situation with amazon, which require any account changes to be made through a pc. So I'm not even sure what my listing look like. But overall, I think it's going to be a good marketplace. Either way until they facilitate a sale I owe them nothing, so I have nothing to lose. Let's see how it goes

Good luck, Sal! You've inspired me to get moving. I hope your tablet does the trick for you.

Sal, as soon as your shop goes live you should add a link to your signature. I'm going to start on it today. No time like the present! Dawn

After much thought, I've decided not to do this. Just don't feel like putting in the work required to get a new shop going; instead I'm going to be content with my Etsy shop and creating new things without putting additional pressure on myself. Best of luck to those of you who go ahead with Amazon Handmade - I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines! Dawn

Dawn, I haven't done a thing with Amazon yet. I've got too much going on right now. It's doubtful I'll be doing anything, anytime soon. I may be like you in the end, decide it's too much work.

Michele, what I can tell you is that after I made my decision I felt like a big weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I'm at a place in my life that I love creating, but don't need the income from selling my jewelry. If I make enough to cover beads, findings, tools and other supplies that is good enough and I've been doing that through Etsy and custom work. Dawn
