The Jewelry Artisans Community forum's mission is to foster a community of like minded independent jewelry artists who are open to sharing their knowledge, experience and goals for the benefit of all members in a safe and friendly environment. JAC’s purpose is to support the hand crafted jewelry movement by providing a forum for independent jewelry designers who wish to broaden their knowledge and hone their skills in the design and production of their handmade jewelry. While we acknowledge that there is a place and market for mass manufactured jewelry, the function of JAC doesn’t include promoting commercial jewelry companies either in posts nor in profiles. We have a zero tolerance policy in regard to that.
All sharing among members will be done in a courteous, family friendly manner, avoiding the use of comments that are obscene, libelous, defamatory, harassing or otherwise considered hateful, intolerant or exploitative. Discussions of religion and politics should be avoided as these kinds of topics tend to result in strong emotions which can lead to heated discussion and ad hominem attacks.
The forum owners and moderators reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to delete or modify forum posts, revoke membership to the forum, block access to the forum, modify member account profiles, or modify any User Content on the forum. You should contact the forum moderators directly with any complaint, grievance or problem you have with the Jewelry Artisans Community forums.
The owners and moderators of this forum do not endorse any comments, opinions, instructions or suggestions posted to be true, safe or otherwise tested. Members are responsible to research the validity of any information they intend to use.
Do not include links to your shops, blogs, websites or social networks in the text of your posts except as appropriate on the Promotions board. There are sometimes exceptions to this rule for the purposes of promoting the site and our members. If you wish to engage in promotional activity outside of the Promotions board, please contact a moderator.
You are welcome to add shop and social media links to your signatures which should be limited to no more than 5 links and/or lines of text. Advertising text is not allowed in your signatures. Signatures that include more than 5 links or any type of advertising text will be edited or removed by the forum administrators. If someone is interested in purchasing an item from you they may find you by using the links in your signature. This is not a "selling" venue. Please refrain from posting "items for sale" or "new listings" in any of the boards with the exception of the Marketplace which is for the purpose of buying, selling and trading tools, equipment & destash from your personal inventory. No re-sellers please.
Members who include links to their shops or product listings in their posts will have their posts edited to remove the link and will receive a warning that this is not allowed under our TOU. After having been warned, members who continue to abuse our "no links" policy will have their membership revoked and will be banned from using the site."
All images posted must be uploaded as an attachment or hosted on a server that a member owns or is subscribed to...NO HOTLINKING (linking to images on servers other than one you own or subscribe to) is not allowed. You may find it helpful to register with Photobucket.com or Flickr.com.
Signature images limited to either 175x175 pixels or 100x300 pixels are allowed. You may include a link to your shop, item, promotion, etc. Any images in signatures that exceed these parameters will be removed without notification.
This forum is for the sharing of and exchange of information. If you are a member we expect that you participate by commenting on others threads and sharing of work and accomplishments. Please don't just come to show off your work and not participate when others do the same...that is not a community friendly attitude. Posts or profiles that only serve the purpose of improving your SEO or Google visibility are not regarded as participation.
